The Happy Flower & Gift Gallery is an independent, family-owned floral studio, providing you with over 25 years’ experience in the floral industry.
Meet the team:
Amy, a certified floral designer and the proud owner of The Happy Flower & Gift Gallery, has a passion for flowers since childhood. In 1997, she received her certification in floral design from the American Floral Art School in Chicago.
When she first began her floral career in 1997, she enjoyed designing beautiful bouquets for several well-known independent, family-owned florists. Over the years she continued to grow in the floral industry. Expanding her range of industrywide experience and knowledge, she was successful in management. In addition, she served as a corporate floral procurement buyer and a floral quality assurance coordinator for a leading supermarket in Chicago.
Amy continues to create amazing arrangements from her heart to connect to your floral style and preference.
Tim, Amy’s husband, has been closely watching her create breathtaking fresh and silk floral designs over the last decade. In her home studio, he currently continues to watch and support her as he now observes her create, from start to finish, stunning floral arrangements and gifts in sola wood as well as in elegant silk.
Tim has degrees in business and the culinary arts. He currently works in management for Amazon in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. He helps Amy by delivering flowers for The Happy Flower & Gift Gallery, so look for his friendly face when your doorbell rings!
Mason, Amy’s teenage stepdaughter, excels in academics at Lake Park West High School in Roselle, Illinois. She is an active member of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization—a student led club with a focus on family and technology. Mason recently exemplified the club’s mission when she downloaded Google Docs for her stepmom . Amy knows she can count on Mason for technical skills and family support.
Mason is also an active member of Explorers as well as other clubs; yet, she still has time for a part-time job. When she does have a minute to spare, you may see her at Starbucks.
Carolynn, Amy’s teenage stepdaughter, is a stellar student at Lake Park East High School in Roselle, Illinois. She is an accomplished member of the symphonic band and is seated first chair clarinet. As an active member of Together Helping Others, a club that focuses on helping others and raises money for the less fortunate, Carolynn’s artful t-shirt design was chosen for a recent fundraiser. Carolynn readily shares her artistic talent with Amy at The Happy Flower & Gift Gallery. She helps her stepmom hand dip flowers in colorful paint and helps her create amazing floral displays.
Carolynn is also active in class council as well as other clubs. You know Carolynn is near; you hear her giggle.
Lincoln, Amy’s 10-year-old son and fifth-grader at Dr. Edward G. Dyer School in Burlington, Wisconsin, is the creator of the business name—The Happy Flower. It was born one day during a conversation they had in their car. Amy asked, “What do you think I should call my flower shop, Lincoln?” Lincoln without hesitation turned to her, looked at her, and said, “The Happy Flower.” So it is!
Lincoln has received an award at school for being a role model. His aspiration is to own a movie theatre. He has already chosen the type of movies he will and will not show as well as the tasty treats and reclining seats. His imagination and confidence are unmatched.
Mary Ann, Amy’s proud mom, is Amy’s Web consultant, logo designer, writer and editor. She retired early and has a professional background of nearly 30 years as a writer, editor and layout designer of numerous online and print publications for a private university as well as for the federal government as an Environmental Protection Specialist. She also is a published poet in the United Kingdom. Mary Ann is a lifelong volunteer and is a vision screener for Prevent Blindness Wisconsin.
John, Amy’s stepdad, is her full-time deliveryman. He is a recent retiree from an extraordinary 46-year-career in supervision and management of production and logistics for a world-renowned manufacturer of perlite and machinery. Management valued his abilities and loyalty, while his team valued his leadership and guidance. As a retiree, his family continues to value his guidance and leadership. In his spare time, he enjoys catching feisty northern from his pier and is an avid reader. You can count on John. He’ll deliver for you!
